The NextGen Steel Printhead (Performance series) is a complete and interchangeable extrusion assembly designed by Volumic for its Performance version FDM printers. Supplied ready to fit, it brings together all the components required for filament melting and deposition in the NextGen configuration specific to this range.
Its "very high flow" designation positions it as the most advanced variant in the Volumic printhead range in terms of material throughput and extrusion speed. The steel nozzle makes it specifically suited to abrasive filaments: fibre-filled materials (carbon, glass), metal composites, filled technical polymers. Several diameters are available in the range to cover both surface quality and throughput requirements.
Installation
The complete interchangeable printhead format allows rapid extrusion configuration changes in a matter of minutes, without individually disassembling components or deep intervention on the thermal wiring. The steel nozzle's abrasion resistance preserves the extrusion channel calibre over time, where a brass or copper/nickel nozzle would wear quickly with filled materials. Installation is carried out according to the procedure documented by Volumic in its online technical support, with the machine switched off and the printhead cooled. Note: this product is made to order and has a short manufacturing lead time.
