Prusament Resin Model+ carries over the Model resin formulation, reworked for consistent reactivity from batch to batch and better impact resistance. Exposure goes down to 2 to 2.4 seconds per 0.05 mm layer on the SL1S SPEED, with 7 to 8 seconds for the first layer.
Pigment sedimentation, noticeable on the light shades of the previous generation, has been clearly reduced. Prusa still recommends briefly stirring the bottle before each use. The formulation contains no bisphenol A, acryloylmorpholine or TPO.
Detail, shrinkage and applications
Parts come out stiff, with low shrinkage and firm platform adhesion. The result covers fast industrial prototyping, scale models, figurines and jewellery. The Alabaster White, Solid Grey and Neutral Beige shades were tuned to the requirements of dental models and orthodontic aligner thermoforming.
The resin also serves as a moulding material, whether the master model or the mould itself is printed. After standard washing and post-curing, the curing of cast silicone is not inhibited. On the other hand, high-temperature resistance stays low and extended post-curing yellows the parts, an effect that fades over time and with heat.
