Prusament Resin BioBased60 draws 60 % of its composition from plant-based ingredients. Its acrylic monomers come from natural oils and terpenes, among them alpha-pinene extracted from pine, which gives the resin a coniferous smell.
Prusa places its mechanical properties at the level of its Tough resins. The level of detail stays high without lengthening exposure times, which go down to 2.8 seconds per layer on the SL1S SPEED.
Applications and post-processing
The material suits fine, detailed parts, models, figurines and prototypes. Cured parts sand easily, dry as well as wet. The resin is also used to produce moulds, either by printing a master model to take an impression from or by printing the mould directly.
