Printing behaviour
Prusament PETG prints at 250 °C (± 10 °C) on a bed heated to 80 °C (± 10 °C), with a 0.4 mm brass nozzle recommended. Easy to work with, it suits beginners and professionals alike, with low shrinkage and little warping, which makes it possible to print large objects, including parts assembled from several glued elements.
Its glossy surface can accentuate imperfections, and the material is sensitive to moisture, with a risk of stringing that requires occasional drying. It is also poorly suited to bridges.
Properties and applications
Durable in thick layers and flexible in thin layers, PETG bends or deforms slightly on impact rather than breaking. Compared with PLA, it offers better impact resistance, better interlayer adhesion and better resistance to high temperatures, while remaining easier to sand.
It is suitable for rapid prototyping and functional mechanical components. Its strength nevertheless remains lower than that of more advanced materials such as PC Blend.
