Spring steel sheet with smooth PEI coating on both sides, designed for the heatbed of the Original Prusa XL. It is held on the bed by the embedded high Curie temperature magnets and can be removed to release the parts.
The smooth surface gives prints a smooth bottom side. It is particularly suited to PLA and offers good adhesion with most materials, including on small details.
Use and maintenance
With PETG, the sheet must not be cleaned with IPA before printing, and a separating agent may be required. Printing flexible filaments requires applying glue stick.
The nozzle or tools may leave small marks that are shinier than the rest of the surface, with no effect on adhesion. To even out the appearance, the area can be resurfaced by gently rubbing it in a circular motion with the hard side of a dry kitchen sponge. The steel colour may vary from one sheet to another, the PEI surface remaining identical.
