The X/Y/Z end-stop microswitch is a replacement mechanical limit switch dedicated to Volumic Stream series FDM printers. It is fitted to the X, Y, and Z axes and is the reference component used by the machine for its home position (homing) at the start of each print job: the mechanical contact of the microswitch signals the zero position of the corresponding axis to the control board.
This spare part allows a faulty endstop to be replaced — one that triggers spuriously, exhibits a false contact, or fails to return position — without having to work on the entire machine wiring loom.
Implementation
The microswitch is supplied bare, for soldering: its integration requires removing the faulty component, desoldering its connections, and re-soldering the new component onto the same pads. The operation is carried out with the machine switched off, by an operator with fine electronic soldering skills. A homing test on all three axes must be carried out after reassembly to validate correct sensor triggering and the consistency of the zero position with the machine's software references.
