Printing behaviour
Kimya's ABS-R filament is a technical material made from recycled materials, intended for industrial applications and functional prototyping. Its formulation retains the properties expected of an ABS, with good impact resistance, rigidity suited to mechanical uses and heat resistance of around 90 °C.
Printing requires a heated bed and benefits from an enclosed environment in order to limit shrinkage and warping phenomena. The use of a heated chamber improves thermal stability during the manufacture of bulky or technical parts.
Applications and use
ABS-R is used for manufacturing jigs, tooling, functional prototypes and end-use parts. Its positioning is aimed at production environments looking for a recyclable material while retaining mechanical characteristics suited to the common constraints of FDM printing.
To optimise first-layer adhesion, the use of a plate adhesive may be recommended. The material complies with REACH and RoHS regulations.
