PLA filament certified PMUC (Products and Materials Usable in Power Plants) by EDF, extruded by Francofil in its Normandy workshop. The certification covers the chemical composition of the filament: a controlled halogen and sulphur content, which limits the risk of stress corrosion of stainless steels in nuclear facilities.
The Rose FME (Foreign Material Exclusion) colour is used for visual identification of tooling brought into foreign material exclusion areas. The White, Black, Red RAL 3020 and Green RAL 6018 colours complete the range for other site colour codes.
Uses in controlled areas
PMUC PLA is used for simple tooling, positioning jigs, temporary blanking plugs and protective caps, as well as visual prototypes. Its mechanical and thermal properties remain those of a PLA: it prints without a closed enclosure, with low shrinkage, but it is not intended for parts exposed to heat. Each colour has its own PMUC approval sheet from the manufacturer.
