Francofil PETG targets functional parts exposed to impact and moisture, with a chemical resistance that PLA does not offer. It prints without noticeable odour and without an enclosure, which makes it simpler to bring into a workshop than ABS.
The 1 kg spool in 2.85 mm feeds large diameter machines, on which this material serves both functional prototyping and short production runs.
Printing behaviour
Extrusion runs between 235 and 260 °C, on a bed held between 60 and 90 °C, at a documented speed of up to 100 mm/s. Interlayer adhesion is strong and the mechanical properties exceed those of PLA, which points the material towards loaded parts rather than presentation volumes.
Outdoor use
Moisture resistance and chemical resistance allow certain outdoor uses. Without a specific additive, the material remains sensitive to ultraviolet light, which limits prolonged sun exposure unless a surface protection is applied.
