XPETG CF from Extrudr is a composite filament combining a modified PETG matrix with carbon fibre reinforcement. This combination delivers high rigidity and mechanical strength superior to standard PETG, while retaining accessible print behaviour and low cooling shrinkage. The range is available in several colours.
The material offers broad chemical resistance and a UL 94 flame-retardant rating at 3.2 mm wall thickness. The raw material is certified to REACH and RoHS standards, making it a proven option for producing functional parts in regulated sectors.
Printing behaviour
Printing is carried out between 220 and 250 °C, on a heated build plate at 60–90 °C, at speeds of 20 to 200 mm/s. The manufacturer recommends printing a heat tower to dial in the optimal settings for each machine.
The carbon fibre fill is abrasive and requires the use of a hardened nozzle. Despite the high fibre content, interlayer adhesion remains good and the material shows neither significant warping nor notable shrinkage, simplifying the production of large parts.
Mechanical properties and applications
XPETG CF combines high mechanical strength, good elongation at break and heat resistance of 85 °C. These characteristics cover a wide spectrum of applications, from electronic component manufacturing and workshop jigs to technical utensils and lightweight structural parts. The fibre reinforcement gives a matt surface finish that reduces layer-line visibility and limits post-processing operations.
