GreenTEC Pro Carbon from Extrudr is a composite filament combining the GreenTEC Pro biopolymer matrix with carbon fibre reinforcement. The matrix is derived from renewable raw materials and is biodegradable, while the fibre fill adds rigidity and dimensional stability for low specific weight.

The formulation targets technical applications inspired by motorsport, aeronautics, aerospace and medical: lightweight structural parts, jigs, instrument supports and functional prototypes. The material complies with REACH and RoHS regulations.

Printing behaviour

Printing is carried out in the 200–240 °C range, with a recommended temperature between 230 and 240 °C to preserve interlayer adhesion. Below 230 °C, interlayer cohesion degrades noticeably. The manufacturer recommends printing a heat tower at the start of each batch to dial in the optimal settings for each machine.

The carbon fibre fill is abrasive and requires the use of a hardened nozzle of at least 0.5 mm. The fibre also stabilises the molten material during bridging phases and limits shrinkage, making processing accessible to operators with limited composite experience.

Mechanical properties and applications

The fibre reinforcement gives the material high rigidity and good compressive load resistance, complemented by notable impact strength. Heat deflection resistance reaches 165 °C (Vicat VST), with UV stability comparable to ASA, opening use to functional parts exposed outdoors or in hot environments. The resulting surface is matt, with fibre orientation reducing layer-line visibility and masking layer irregularities, which reduces post-processing.
