Printing behaviour
DuraPro PA12 prints at a temperature of 260 to 290 °C on a bed heated to 110 °C, at speeds of up to 150 mm/s. Like all polyamides, it is moisture-sensitive: drying the filament before printing is recommended to preserve extrusion quality and the mechanical properties of parts.
However, its moisture uptake remains lower than that of other polyamides, which makes it easier to process. An enclosed chamber is recommended to limit warping.
Properties and applications
PA12 offers high mechanical and impact strength, good chemical resistance, and thermal performance characterised by a VICAT A point of 142 °C. These properties, combined with a low coefficient of friction, make it suitable for technical functional parts: gears, joints, mounts, and components subject to wear or repeated stress.
