The stainless steel double drive is an extruder sub-assembly for Volumic Stream series 3D printers. Designed to push filament between two synchronised toothed wheels, it ensures bilateral contact with the consumable and reduces the risk of slipping compared to a single drive.
The assembly is machined in stainless steel to withstand mechanical wear and corrosion over time, in both prototyping workshop and serial production environments.
Composition and operation
The part is supplied complete with its central shaft and two needle-roller cages pre-installed, allowing direct replacement without third-party components.
Free rotation of the wheels on their needle bearings maintains consistent drive torque and reduces the load on the stepper motor. Symmetrical contact with the filament improves force transmission and reduces the risk of slipping during printing of technical consumables.
Compatibility and precautions
This part fits Volumic Stream SC, SC2, MK3, SH65, EXO42, and EXO65 printers, including their IDRE and Performance variants. It is not compatible with the Stream ULTRA range, which uses a specific drive system. Verify the exact machine model before ordering.
