The SH65/EXO42 extruder blower duct, also known as the blowerduct, is a replacement part that channels the cooling fan airflow towards the part being printed. Installed on the Volumic printhead, it directs the air from the blower close to the nozzle to provide controlled cooling of the freshly deposited layer.
Role in print quality
The quality of layer cooling at the nozzle exit directly determines the rendering of bridges, overhangs, and fine details in FDM printing.
A duct whose geometry has been degraded by heat, cracked, or poorly positioned will disperse the airflow and cause visible defects on the finished part. Replacement with the genuine part restores the manufacturer-designed airflow geometry and consistent cooling.
Installation
The duct mounts in the dedicated position on the printhead, at the radial fan outlet. The operation requires no major disassembly of the machine and forms part of preventive maintenance logic for printers in intensive workshop or production use.
