The EXO42 ABEK hood is a closed enclosure designed for the Volumic EXO42 3D printer. Supplied pre-assembled and complete, it incorporates an active filtration system connected via a dedicated connector, a hinge with screws, an opening and closing mechanism, a lateral spool holder, and a filament guide tube.
This assembly captures the emissions generated during FDM printing of technical filaments and stabilises the internal atmosphere of the print volume, in line with the requirements of a professional workshop or production zone.
Filtration system
The integrated filter meets standard EN 141:2000 in an ABEK class 2 configuration, suited to a gas concentration of between 0.1% and 0.5% by volume.
The designation covers four families: A2 for organic gases and vapours with a boiling point above 65 °C (solvents, hydrocarbons), B2 for inorganic gases, halogens, and vapours (chlorine, cyanides, formaldehyde, hydrochloric acid), E2 for acid gases and vapours (sulphur dioxide), and K2 for ammonia and organic amine derivatives. The filter also provides protection against particles, dust, and aerosols.
Installation and precautions
The hood is supplied pre-assembled to facilitate installation on the machine. Its use is restricted to well-ventilated premises where the atmosphere contains a minimum oxygen content of 17%.
The lateral spool holder and guide tube ensure controlled filament routing from the external spool to the printhead, without obstructing enclosure closure. This product is manufactured to order: lead time must be confirmed before purchase.
