The Revo DiamondBack nozzle, developed with DiamondBack, integrates a solid polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tip. This solid diamond part is inserted in the tip and forms the orifice and the tip face, the areas that wear with fibre, metal or ceramic filled filaments. PCD combines many crystals bonded together, which keeps most of the diamond hardness while reducing its brittleness.
The carrier is machined from brass and the nozzle is fitted like any Revo nozzle, by hand and cold, with no special tools.
Service life and use
The hardness, wear resistance and thermal conductivity of PCD extend the nozzle service life. Standard slicer profiles are the starting point. Some filled materials contain particles close to the diameter of small nozzles, up to 0.4 mm: check the minimum recommended diameter on the filament datasheet.
