AESUB Transparent is a volatile matting spray for preparing parts before 3D scanning, whose particular feature is a transparent coating rather than the usual white matt deposit. This transparency allows simultaneous capture of the part geometry and its original colour values (texture, markings, tint), which is critical for reverse engineering or digital archiving workflows requiring a faithful reproduction of the original appearance.
The fine, non-slip coating eliminates parasitic reflections from shiny, mirror-like or metallic surfaces without masking colorimetric information. The formulation is pigment-free: the spray mist does not contaminate sensors or measurement environments, and the deposit fully sublimates from the part in approximately 4 hours, leaving no residue and requiring no cleaning step.
Application
Shake the can before use, then spray at 15–20 cm from the part with regular sweeping movements to achieve a uniform layer. The solvent evaporates within a few seconds, the active agent remains on the surface as a coating. The part remains fully scannable for approximately 1 hour; individual outlines can then be re-sprayed if the session extends beyond this. Reference points adhere to the coating, which is useful for photogrammetric and multi-pose stitching workflows.
Sublimation time depends on ambient temperature, air flow, material type, part geometry and deposit thickness. It can be accelerated by warm air (hair dryer) or extended by applying successive layers.
Precautions and storage
Extremely flammable aerosol under pressure: keep away from all heat sources, hot surfaces, sparks or naked flames. Do not expose to above 50 °C, do not pierce or burn. Adequate ventilation required. Do not spray on hot components or those intended for food contact. Store in a dry location between 18 °C and 21 °C, protected from sunlight. Minimum shelf life of 3 years.
