Properties and applications
The carbon fibre reinforcement (15%) increases the stiffness and strength of PET while reducing part weight. It improves dimensional stability and limits warping during printing, making it easier to achieve accurate parts.
These characteristics make the material suited to technical and functional parts subject to mechanical stress: brackets, fixtures, structural components, and parts requiring a good strength-to-weight ratio.
Printing behaviour
Carbon fibres are abrasive: a hardened steel or abrasion-resistant nozzle is required, as brass nozzles wear quickly. As with most engineering PET materials, pre-drying the filament is recommended to preserve extrusion quality and the mechanical properties of the parts.
