REFLECON Tarnish 50 is developed to improve digitalisation of complex surfaces during laser or structured-light 3D scanning operations. It forms a homogeneous matte film that limits parasitic reflections on glossy, transparent, black, or mirror materials.
Its optimised cyclododecane-based formulation offers an extended sublimation time of between 5 and 8 hours depending on ambient temperature and the treated surface. This stability makes it particularly suited to large parts, multi-position acquisitions, and dimensional inspection operations requiring extended measurement time.
Application and coating behaviour
The spray produces a fine layer with regular distribution that limits the impact on geometric details recorded by optical scanners. Its reduced solvent formulation generates little dust during application, which helps preserve measuring equipment and laser system ventilation.
The product sublimates without residue and requires no cleaning after use. A prior compatibility check is recommended before application on certain coatings, technical plastics, or sensitive surfaces.
