PURGE Ultra is used as a temporary replacement for the standard print filament: the material is loaded and extruded at the standard working temperature until all carbonised or solidified residues in the melt chamber are fully purged. Rated "very easy" in terms of difficulty, it requires no specific machine configuration.
Its use is particularly recommended when changing material between filaments at different temperatures (for example PLA to PETG, PETG to ABS or ASA), to avoid cross-contamination and extrusion defects on the first layers.
Preventive maintenance and applications
A proven maintenance-oriented formulation, PURGE Ultra acts as a cleaning and lubricating agent for the hot end. According to the manufacturer, regular use can extend nozzle and heat break service life by three to four times, whilst maintaining a consistent extrusion surface condition. It fits into a preventive maintenance protocol for additive manufacturing workshops: end-of-run purge, transitions between technical materials, or corrective intervention in the event of under-extrusion.
