PETG Ultra is an industrial-grade filament developed by Volumic, formulated from PETG with a PCTG addition to combine mechanical performance and surface finish quality. Available in several colours, it is aimed at prototyping workshops and design offices looking for a versatile, easy-to-process consumable.
The formulation is optimised to limit stringing during extrusion, which reduces post-processing operations on parts featuring rapid travel moves or complex geometries.
Printing behaviour
The filament prints at 230 °C at the nozzle, on a heated build plate at 60 °C. This contained extrusion temperature for a PETG limits thermal stress on the machine's hot-end components and allows processing without an enclosed chamber.
Adhesion on a lacquered build plate is rated as normal, without the need for additional adhesive. The material is compatible with all nozzle types (brass, steel, hardened), its additive content generating no notable abrasion.
Applications
PETG Ultra is suited to functional prototyping, assembly parts and technical supports. Its surface finish also enables the production of visible parts requiring no aesthetic post-processing. The stated ease of printing makes it suitable for recurring production without advanced parameter tuning.
