Printing behaviour

PETG-S prints at an extrusion temperature of 225 °C on a bed heated to 60 °C, at a speed of around 50 mm/s. Its good inter-layer adhesion and low water absorption make it easier to obtain watertight, dimensionally stable parts.

With a glass transition temperature of 80 °C, it is suited to functional parts with little exposure to heat; for higher service temperatures, an ABS or polycarbonate from the range will be preferred.

Properties and applications

A saturated polyester obtained by copolymerisation with PET, PETG-S combines a hardness of 72.5 Shore D with high elongation at break, i.e. a compromise between rigidity and flexibility. Its suitability for food contact, according to EU 10/2011 for all colours and FDA 21 CFR for the natural colour, broadens its field of application to parts in contact with foodstuffs.

Store away from light, moisture and heat in order to preserve the product's properties.

About Kimya

Origine : France
