Printing behaviour
PEI-9085 is a high-temperature material whose extrusion is carried out between 350 and 380 °C, on a heated bed of 120 to 160 °C, at a speed of between 20 and 35 mm/s. Its processing requires a high-temperature FDM printer with an enclosed, regulated chamber.
With a glass transition temperature of 175 °C, it retains its dimensional stability up to a service temperature of 170 °C. Pre-drying remains recommended, with its residual moisture content needing to remain below 1 %.
Properties and applications
PEI-9085 has a high strength-to-weight ratio, good chemical resistance and strong resistance to stress cracking. Its fire behaviour, UL94 V0 and FAR 25.853 compliant, as well as its limiting oxygen index of 49 %, make it suitable for demanding aerospace and industrial applications.
Its high elongation at break gives it a balance between rigidity and flexibility suited to functional parts and technical prototyping.
