Material behaviour and functional applications

Kimya PA6-CO is a copolymer derived from Nylon 6 designed for the additive manufacturing of technical parts. This unfilled polyamide has high tensile strength, good wear resistance as well as thermal resistance suited to industrial environments. Its low tendency to warp makes it easier to produce dimensionally stable parts, including on equipment without a heated chamber.

The material is used for the production of tooling, functional prototypes and parts intended for end use in the industrial and automotive sectors. Its mechanical strength also allows the manufacture of components subjected to repeated stress.

Use and storage precautions

Printing PA6-CO requires high extrusion temperatures as well as a heated bed in order to optimise inter-layer adhesion and cohesion. Like all polyamide materials, it is sensitive to moisture and must be stored away from water, heat and light in order to preserve its extrusion properties. The filament is available in several diameters and pack sizes to suit the various FDM production environments.

About Kimya
