Printing behaviour and environmental resistance

Kimya ASA-S belongs to the family of styrenic polymers and has mechanical properties close to ABS while offering better resistance to UV radiation and weather conditions. This characteristic allows it to be used for parts intended to remain outdoors over the long term, notably in the automotive, marine or technical-equipment sectors exposed to the weather.

Its formulation is also suited to applications requiring good thermal resistance and abrasion resistance. The material complies with RoHS and REACH regulations according to the data provided by the manufacturer.

Use in additive manufacturing

Printing the ASA-S filament requires a heated bed as well as high extrusion temperatures in order to limit shrinkage and ensure controlled inter-layer adhesion. The material is available in several diameters and colours in order to suit different production environments. Its behaviour makes it suitable for producing functional prototypes, technical housings, maintenance parts or components intended for prolonged outdoor use.

About Kimya
