Printing behaviour
Kimya ABS Carbon prints at an extrusion temperature of 250 to 270 °C on a bed heated to between 90 and 110 °C, at a speed of 40 to 70 mm/s. The carbon fibre limits warping and delamination while improving adhesion between layers, which contributes to the dimensional stability of parts.
Like all ABS, it preferably prints in an enclosed chamber in order to limit shrinkage and preserve dimensional consistency on large parts.
Properties and applications
The carbon-fibre reinforcement gives ABS better mechanical properties than a conventional ABS: increased tensile strength, good impact resistance and lighter parts, for a surface hardness of around 72 Shore D.
It is suited to prototyping, tooling and the manufacture of end-use parts, notably for the automotive, aerospace and medical sectors, as well as to the printing of repair parts.
