Isopropyl alcohol (IPA, isopropanol) at 99.9% purity is the reference solvent for post-processing and maintenance in 3D printing: cleaning SLA, MSLA, and DLP resin parts before UV post-cure, degreasing FDM build plates, and maintaining optics and internal surfaces in SLS environments. Its high purity and volatility ensure rapid evaporation without residue, which is critical before any polymerisation, painting, or bonding step.
This product is packaged in a box of 12 × 1 L, a format suited to workshop handling, shelf storage, and distribution across multiple workstations or washing stations.
Applications in 3D printing
In resin printing, IPA is used as a wash bath for freshly printed parts to dissolve uncured residual resin, in washing stations such as Form Wash, Anycubic Wash & Cure, Elegoo Mercury, Phrozen Cure & Wash, etc. It is also used to clean resin vats, build plates, and tooling that comes into contact with resin.
In FDM, it is used to degrease build plates between cycles (glass, smooth or textured PEI, spring steel sheets) to restore first-layer adhesion. In SLS, it is used to clean optics and internal machine surfaces during preventive maintenance operations.
Precautions and storage
Highly flammable liquid: keep away from all sources of heat, hot surfaces, sparks, or open flames. Use in a well-ventilated area with appropriate PPE (nitrile gloves, goggles, respiratory protection for prolonged use). Avoid prolonged skin contact and inhalation of vapours. Store in a sealed container, away from sunlight. Dispose of residues in accordance with applicable hazardous waste regulations and the product safety data sheet (SDS).
