FilAcetate is a cellulose acetate filament, a bio-based thermoplastic derived from wood or cotton cellulose. It combines gloss, toughness and good impact resistance, with a smooth finish suited to cosmetic parts and design objects.
The material has long been used in eyewear for its resistance to bending and UV and for its self-polishing character. It prints on most standard FDM printers with very low odour, and the manufacturer notes that it requires some printing experience.
Storage and part validation
Store the spool in a dry place, in a closed container away from moisture. The values in the technical data sheet are measured on test specimens made of uncoloured material. Actual properties depend on the printing parameters, the part geometry and its conditions of use, and must be validated for each application.
