Avec une dureté Shore de 50A, l'Elastic 50A reproduit le toucher et la souplesse des caoutchoucs et silicones moulés. Après post-polymérisation, il présente une résistance à la rupture par traction de 3,4 MPa, un allongement à la rupture de 160 % et une résistance au déchirement de 12,3 kN/m. Les pièces supportent des cycles répétés de flexion, d'étirement et de compression sans se déchirer, et retrouvent rapidement leur géométrie d'origine.
Sa transparence permet de visualiser l'intérieur des pièces, ce qui le destine aux prototypes souples, aux éléments compressibles tels que boutons et joints, aux mécanismes compliants pour la robotique, aux wearables et aux modèles médicaux de tissus mous.
Mise en œuvre et post-traitement
L'Elastic 50A s'imprime en SLA et nécessite un lavage à l'alcool ou à l'éther pour retirer l'excès de résine, suivi d'une post-polymérisation indispensable à l'obtention des propriétés mécaniques finales. En cartouche 5 L, le matériau est destiné au flux d'alimentation automatisé (Resin Pumping System) pour les productions à plus haut volume.
