Standard Flow nozzle for the Prusa Nextruder, from the official collaboration between E3D and Prusa. It carries the ObXiDian 500 coating which, according to the manufacturer, makes it at least five times more wear resistant than the ObXidian range. Most abrasive filaments, including glow in the dark filaments, print without noticeable nozzle wear.
The coating has a low surface energy that limits material build-up on the nozzle. Cleaning between prints is easier, and the risk of print crashes or cosmetic defects is reduced.
Usage limits
Some heavily filled engineering filaments, such as Polymaker's Fiberon range, can cause significant wear on an ObXiDian 500 nozzle. Some fillers also contain particles close to 0.4 mm or larger: at this diameter, the risk of a jam increases. Check the minimum recommended nozzle diameter in the filament datasheet before printing.
