The MK2 v2 heater sensor (cartridge) is a replacement temperature probe dedicated to the extrusion printheads of Volumic FDM Stream series 3D printers, in cartridge format. It continuously measures the temperature of the heater block (hotend) and transmits the reading to the control board for PID regulation of extrusion.
This spare part allows a faulty or drifting sensor to be replaced (erratic readings, temperature errors during printing, thermal safety trigger) without having to replace the entire printhead. The kit includes one sensor and its pre-assembled cable.
Implementation
Installation is carried out with the printhead cooled and the machine switched off, by partially dismantling the hotend according to the procedure documented by Volumic in its online technical support. The sensor is seated in its dedicated housing on the heater block, and the cable is connected to the corresponding connector on the control board. A heating test and PID verification must be carried out after reassembly to validate thermal regulation and ensure the reproducibility of extrusion parameters.
