The EXO65 ABEK hood is a closed enclosure for Volumic EXO65 FDM 3D printers, supplied pre-assembled and ready to install. It transforms the open printer into an enclosed machine, creating a confined work volume that stabilises the temperature around the part being printed. This thermal stabilisation limits shrinkage and improves interlayer adhesion, particularly for technical materials sensitive to cooling (ABS, ASA, PC, PA).
The hood incorporates an active ABEK filtration system with SC connector, designed to retain gases and vapours emitted during printing. This configuration makes it suitable for professional environments where emission control is an installation requirement (design offices, workshops, laboratories).
Composition and installation
The kit includes the pre-assembled hood, its hinge and associated screws, the active filter with SC connector, an opening and closing mechanism, a mounted lateral spool holder, and a filament guide tube. Installation is carried out directly on the EXO65 printer with no structural modification to the machine. Note: this product is manufactured to order and has a production lead time; it is recommended to contact the manufacturer for schedule confirmation before integration into a project.
ABEK filtration
The ABEK 2 filter meets standard EN 141:2000 and retains organic gases and vapours with a boiling point above 65 °C (solvents, hydrocarbons), inorganic gases and halogens (chlorine, cyanides, formaldehyde, hydrochloric acid), acid gases and vapours (sulphur dioxide), and ammonia and organic amine derivatives, for a gas concentration of between 0.1% and 0.5% by volume. It also retains particles, dust, and aerosols. Use must take place in well-ventilated premises containing a minimum of 17% oxygen by volume.
