The STREAM ULTRA SC printhead cover is the replacement shroud dedicated to the extrusion printhead of Volumic Stream Ultra SC FDM printers. It wraps around the hotend assembly and printhead mechanics, providing both protection for internal components (wiring loom, cooling, sensors) and channelling of the airflow generated by the part-cooling fan.
This spare part allows a damaged, cracked, or filament-splattered cover to be replaced without working on the thermal components of the hotend. The shroud also contributes to the finished appearance of the machine in a serial production workshop.
Implementation
The cover mounts directly onto the extrusion printhead, with the machine switched off and the hotend cooled, following the procedure documented by Volumic in its online technical support. The operation requires no disassembly of the heater block or modification of the wiring: it is a purely mechanical replacement, within the capability of a level 1 maintenance operator. A visual check of correct positioning and unobstructed airflow must be carried out after reassembly.
