Propriétés et biocompatibilité
La BioMed Flex 80A associe une certaine rigidité à une flexibilité maîtrisée : sa dureté Shore 80A, son allongement à la rupture de 135 % et sa résistance au déchirement de 22 kN/m permettent de produire des pièces souples mais fermes, déformables sans rupture. Sa transparence facilite l'inspection visuelle et la lecture interne des modèles. Le matériau est certifié USP Class VI et fabriqué dans une installation certifiée ISO 13485, conforme au règlement EU MDR.
Sa biocompatibilité couvre le contact cutané prolongé (au-delà de 30 jours) et le contact muqueux de courte durée (moins de 24 heures), ce qui le destine aux dispositifs médicaux souples et à leurs composants, ainsi qu'aux modèles de tissus fermes servant de référence peropératoire : gabarits de dimensionnement, modèles de cartilage, modèles d'organes.
Mise en œuvre et post-traitement
La BioMed Flex 80A s'imprime en SLA et nécessite un lavage à l'alcool pour éliminer l'excès de résine, suivi d'une post-polymérisation. Cette étape est indispensable à l'atteinte des standards de sécurité requis pour les applications biocompatibles. Formlabs ne définit pas d'usage prévu pour ses résines BioMed : il appartient au fabricant du dispositif de valider la biocompatibilité et les performances des pièces pour son application.
