The Assembled Hotend for MK3 series is the complete pre-assembled hotend supplied as a spare part by Prusa Research, dedicated to the melt zone of Original Prusa FDM printers in the MK3 series (MK3, MK3S, MK3S+) and MK3.5 series (MK3.5, MK3.5S). Delivered ready to install, it groups together all the components required for filament melting and deposition: V6 nozzle, heater block, heat break, heatsink with its collet, PTFE tube, 24 V / 40 W heating cartridge with pre-wired Molex connector, and thermistor.
The pre-assembled unit allows a complete hotend to be replaced in a single operation, without recombining individual components. It is a proven solution for maintenance workshops wishing to reduce machine downtime during a post-incident replacement or preventive maintenance operation on a fleet of MK3 / MK3S / MK3S+ / MK3.5(S).
Implementation
Replacement is carried out in the event of recurring clogging, filament leakage, thermal failure (cartridge or thermistor), PTFE degradation, or nozzle wear not recoverable by simple part replacement. The operation is performed with the printer switched off and the hotend cooled, following the Prusa installation manual dedicated to this kit (prusa.io/mk3hotend) and the procedure published on help.prusa3d.com for the relevant printer model. After reassembly, perform a PID tune and an extrusion test to validate thermal regulation and consistent flow.
