The Advanced Filtration for Prusa CORE One is the dedicated air filtration system for the Prusa CORE One enclosed FDM printer. It consists of a housing integrating a HEPA filter, an activated carbon filter, and a high-pressure radial fan, mounted on the machine's rear exhaust and fully controlled by the firmware. Its function is to capture ultrafine particles (UFP / nanoparticles) and reduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odours emitted when printing materials that produce more pronounced fumes, particularly ASA and certain technical polymers.
The HEPA filter selected achieves a particle filtration efficiency of 99.9%. Combined with activated carbon granules, it aims to treat both the particulate and gaseous fractions of the air leaving the enclosure, making the system a proven solution for workshops operating a printer fleet in a shared working environment (engineering offices, professional fab labs, prototyping rooms).
Implementation and maintenance
The system is designed to integrate fully into the printer: the fans are controlled by the firmware without additional manual configuration. Installation is carried out on the rear exhaust according to the procedure documented on the Prusa knowledge base (help.prusa3d.com).
The HEPA filter is replaceable and has an estimated service life of at least 600 hours of operation, to be incorporated into the workshop's preventive maintenance plan. The activated carbon cartridge follows its own replacement cycle, to be validated according to usage intensity and the profile of materials printed.
