Printing behaviour
PETG Carbon is processed with a recommended extrusion temperature of 220 to 260 °C and a heated bed of 60 to 100 °C, at a speed of 40 to 70 mm/s. The carbon-fibre reinforcement improves inter-layer adhesion, reduces delamination and limits both shrinkage and warping, which promotes the dimensional stability of parts.
As the carbon filler is abrasive, the use of a wear-resistant nozzle, in hardened steel or equivalent, is recommended. Pre-drying the filament before printing is advised.
Properties and applications
Its high rigidity and tensile modulus, combined with low weight, make PETG Carbon well suited to the manufacture of functional parts and tooling. It is used for specific technical parts, notably in the paramedical, medical and automotive fields, while retaining the good surface finish characteristic of PETG.
