Properties and applications
Kimya PC-GF combines a polycarbonate matrix with a glass-fibre reinforcement. This filler increases rigidity and flexural strength while improving dimensional stability, which limits shrinkage and warping compared with an unfilled polycarbonate.
Reserved for industrial use, it is suited to functional prototyping and the manufacture of mechanically stressed technical parts: supports, jigs, tooling and components for the automotive, electrical and electronics sectors. It is available in several colours.
Use, safety and storage
As polycarbonate is sensitive to moisture, drying the filament before printing is recommended. The glass fibre also makes the material abrasive: a hardened steel or wear-resistant nozzle is advised. To limit thermal decomposition, avoid exceeding 290 °C, and provide suitable ventilation during printing as well as any machining that generates dust.
Store the packaging closed in a cool, ventilated place, away from frost and sunlight. The unsoiled packaging is recyclable.
