Printing behaviour
Kimya ABS-EC prints at an extrusion temperature of 250 to 280 °C on a bed heated to between 90 and 110 °C, at a speed of 20 to 60 mm/s. Like all ABS, it preferably prints in an enclosed chamber away from draughts in order to limit shrinkage and detachment, and to preserve good inter-layer adhesion.
Properties and applications
The addition of carbon nanotubes gives ABS a surface resistivity in the range of 10³ to 10⁵ Ω/square, suited to the dissipation of electrostatic charges. The material is intended to drain charges rather than to conduct current in an electrical circuit, which makes it useful for parts and housings exposed to discharges.
Resistant to impact, heat and ageing and compliant with the REACH standard, it is aimed mainly at the automotive and electronics sectors.
