The Fire Suppression System is a self-contained tube-type extinguishing system designed to be mounted inside the Original Prusa Enclosure of MK series FDM printers. It operates automatically and independently of any power supply: the tube reacts to rising temperature inside the enclosure and releases its extinguishing agent.
Prusa offers it to meet the requirements of certain institutions, such as schools, fab labs or shared workshops, which require an extinguishing device on machines installed in a closed enclosure.
Operation and installation
The system is manufactured in Europe and uses a clean extinguishing agent. According to Prusa, the concentration of agent released inside the enclosure remains harmless to people after activation. The BlazeCut T033E tube is fixed in the enclosure with the two supplied P-clamps, following the step-by-step installation guide published by Prusa.
