Filaflex 82A Food Grade

Filaflex 82A, which Recreus refers to as its "Original" reference, is a TPU with a Shore hardness of 82A and a stated elongation at break of 650 %, returning to its initial shape after stretching. The Blue Food Grade version uses a pigment approved for food contact and detectable by optical sensors, on the same TPU base as the other colours in the range.

This pigment makes parts easier to trace in an industrial environment. Odourless, the material resists solvents and fuels, and the manufacturer declares it non-toxic and safe for skin contact, with testing according to ISO 10993. Recreus lists buffers, gaskets, tyres and grippers as well as shoe soles among its applications.

Print settings

Recreus recommends a direct extruder and drying the spool at 55 °C for at least one hour. Nozzle temperature ranges from 240 °C with a 0,4 mm nozzle to 248 °C with a 1,0 mm nozzle, for a volumetric flow of 3,2 to 20,0 mm³/s depending on the nozzle. Once this flow limit is set in the slicer, linear speeds adjust automatically.

Part cooling stays off, except on layers shorter than 8 seconds where it rises to 50 %. The bed can stay at room temperature for small parts and go up to 45 to 50 °C for large ones, with adhesion achieved without adhesive. Retraction is set between 1,5 and 3,5 mm at 40 mm/s depending on the nozzle, with a 0,2 mm Z-hop.
