XPETG REC from Extrudr is a technical PETG filament formulated from recycled raw materials. The recovered materials are reprocessed and internally modified to ensure a quality level comparable to that of virgin PETG. The process, with low raw material and energy consumption, reduces the carbon footprint compared with conventional production.
The filament retains the characteristic properties of modified PETG: high chemical resistance, 100 % recyclability and good processability. It is available in several colours to cover prototyping and short-run eco-design requirements.
Printing behaviour
XPETG REC prints between 230 and 260 °C, on a heated build plate at 60–100 °C, at speeds of 20 to 200 mm/s. The manufacturer rates the processing difficulty as medium: the material is aimed at operators with a basic knowledge of FDM. Interlayer adhesion is high at the correct temperature, and impact resistance is rated 7/10, qualifying the filament for functional parts subject to moderate mechanical loading.
Mechanical properties and applications
The material offers heat resistance of 85–95 °C, extending the application range beyond standard PETG to electronic components, workshop jigs and technical utensils. The broad chemical resistance covers laboratory environments. Elongation at break (5/10) and maximum load (7/10) position the material for functional rather than highly deformable parts. Visual quality is rated 8/10.
