PETG from Extrudr is a technical filament formulated specifically for FDM/FFF processes, targeting functional applications subject to significant mechanical stress. Its formulation combines high chemical resistance, limited cooling shrinkage, and FDA compliance, covering both electronic component manufacturing and food-contact parts.
The material is 100 % recyclable, and several colours are available to incorporate aesthetic requirements into prototyping and short-run projects. The visual surface offers the translucent finish characteristic of well-extruded PETG.
Printing behaviour
The filament prints between 190 and 230 °C, with a build plate up to 90 °C, at speeds of 60 to 120 mm/s. Interlayer adhesion is high when the print temperature is sufficient and part cooling is controlled. The material is aimed at operators with a basic knowledge of FDM.
For large parts (beyond approximately 10 × 10 × 10 cm), a heated build plate and an enclosed chamber are recommended to limit lifting and ensure dimensional stability throughout the print session.
Mechanical properties and applications
PETG combines good rigidity with slight flexibility, giving it high impact resistance and a progressive failure behaviour. Its heat deflection resistance of 80–90 °C allows use in the production of electronic components, technical utensils and fitout parts. The broad chemical resistance and FDA food-contact compliance extend the range to food and laboratory applications.
