PCTG from Extrudr is a modified copolyester filament designed for industrial applications. Its formulation combines high chemical and thermal resistance with marked flexibility and impact resistance, all combined with a glassy surface finish. The material also offers flame-retardant properties to UL94 V2 and HB ratings.
The raw materials are certified for cosmetics contact, and comply with FDA, REACH and RoHS, opening use to regulated sectors. The filament is available in several colours to cover both prototyping and the production of functional parts with a refined aesthetic.
Printing behaviour
PCTG prints between 250 and 270 °C, on a heated build plate at 50–70 °C. The material is rated as easy to process, making it accessible to operators with basic FDM knowledge. With sufficient nozzle heat and limited part cooling, interlayer adhesion is high, ensuring good mechanical performance on the Z-axis of functional parts.
Mechanical properties and applications
PCTG combines good rigidity with some flexibility and high impact resistance, distinguishing it from standard PETG on parts subject to dynamic loading. Its heat resistance of 80–90 °C allows use in electronic components, technical utensils and interior fitout parts. Scratch resistance and the glassy finish suit presentation elements, transparent covers and optical guards in industrial environments.
