PLA NX2 MATT from Extrudr is a biopolymer filament developed to combine the ease of processing of standard PLA with enhanced mechanical properties. The MATT formulation delivers a matt surface finish that reduces layer-line visibility and limits post-processing operations on parts intended for end use. The filament is available in several colours to cover prototyping, short runs and presentation parts.
Printing behaviour
PLA NX2 MATT prints in the 200–230 °C range, with a build plate set between 20 and 60 °C. The wide speed range, from 20 to 200 mm/s, makes it compatible with both high-speed production machines and detail-oriented printers.
Cooling shrinkage remains limited and build plate adhesion does not require an enclosed chamber for the majority of geometries, simplifying integration across heterogeneous machine fleets.
Mechanical properties and compliance
The material combines tensile strength, toughness and impact resistance, extending the application range of standard PLA to functional parts subject to moderate loads. FDA, RoHS and toy safety standard compliance opens use to regulated sectors such as food, non-sterile medical environments and children's products. The biopolymer matrix, CO₂-neutral and biodegradable, integrates well into eco-design approaches.
