Printing behaviour
DuraPro PC/PBT CF prints at a temperature between 260 and 290 °C on a bed heated to 100–110 °C, at speeds of up to 250 mm/s. The carbon fibre reinforcement is abrasive: a hardened steel or abrasion-resistant nozzle is required.
The polycarbonate content warrants the use of an enclosed chamber to limit warping, and pre-drying the filament is recommended to preserve extrusion quality.
Properties and applications
The addition of carbon fibre increases the stiffness and dimensional stability of the PC/PBT blend, while reducing part weight.
The material retains the thermal and chemical resistance of PC/PBT and has a carbon-look finish. It is suited to rigid functional parts, brackets, and technical components where the strength-to-weight ratio is critical.
