Ultracur3D® FL 300 is a urethane photopolymer resin developed by BASF Forward AM in its "Flexible" range. The formulation is designed for flexible and elastomeric parts, with a Shore A hardness of 40 and an elongation at break of 245 %, placing the material in the soft elastomer family.
The resin is available in several colours and can also be tinted by adding pigments to the vat. It has been validated by the manufacturer on a variety of 3D printers, enabling its integration into open, configurable material systems.
Mechanical behaviour
Tensile strength is 5 MPa (ASTM D412 C) with an elongation at break of 245 %. Graves tear strength (ASTM D624 type C) reaches 9 N/mm. Rebound resilience (ASTM D1054) is 16 %, and compression set at 23 °C over 72 hours (ASTM D395-B) comes out at 31 %, consistent with the damping behaviour typical of soft elastomers.
Processing and applications
The resin has a low viscosity of 160 mPa·s at 30 °C, reduced to 75 mPa·s at 50 °C, facilitating circulation and drainage in the vat. Liquid resin density is 1.01 g/cm³ and cured part density is 1.07 g/cm³. It is intended for the production of damping and energy-absorbing parts: handles, shoe soles, flexible seals and vibration-absorbing components.
